Jeff Slanker concentrates his practice in the areas of labor and employment Law, civil rights defense, and appellate Law. His labor and employment law focus is on representing employers and management in federal, state, and administrative litigation. He has defended employers in discrimination, retaliation, wage and hour, labor relations, employee benefits and harassment matters. He also advises employers not in active litigation on labor and employment issues including advising on employee discipline matters, layoffs and reorganizations, and leave and disability accommodation. His labor law experience includes collective bargaining negotiations, representing employers in labor grievance arbitrations, and representing public and private employers before Florida’s Public Employer Relations Commission and the National Labor Relations Board respectively.

He also regularly represents governmental defendants in a broad range of cases involving civil rights and constitutional issues. He has defended governmental defendants in cases involving allegations of violations of the First Amendment, claims under the Equal Protection and Due Process clauses, and other provisions of the United States and Florida constitutions.

Jeff is also board certified in appellate practice by the Florida Bar, a distinction currently held by just 212 lawyers in Florida. He works with lawyers on the trial court level to help preserve error and posture matters for appeal and represents clients at the appellate level in briefing and argument of cases before Florida and Federal appellate courts in a wide variety of cases involving labor and employment, education, civil rights and constitutional law.
