Amy J. Pitsch
Of Counsel
Amy J. Pitsch focuses her practice on education and school law, representing educational institutions before the Florida Department of Education, the United States Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights, the Florida Division of Administrative Hearings, and in state and federal trial and appellate courts. Ms. Pitsch specializes in legal matters affecting K-12 public education institutions, including special education/exceptional student education, discrimination, discipline, bullying and harassment, transportation, civil rights, tort defense, contracts, and policy development. She builds and fosters long-term relationships with school board clients who entrust her to provide day-to-day advice as well as litigation defense.
Ms. Pitsch serves as a hearing officer for school board clients in the areas of discipline (expulsions) and disability discrimination (Section 504). She offers expert witness services to clients defending claims for attorneys’ fees in the special education field. She also has extensive experience defending both public and private clients in suits involving allegations of civil rights violations pursuant to Title VII, the ADA, the ADEA, and the Florida Civil Rights Act.
