Kristine Shrode
Associate
Kristine brings many years of experience in various facets of education and school law. She has represented educational institutions in both Illinois and Florida.
Kristine has focused her practice on legal issues including discrimination, Title IX, Civil Rights, Exceptional Student Education, Student Discipline, Student Enrollment, Custody, Section 504, Bullying, and LGBTQ issues impacting educational institutions. Kristine has handled and/or litigated hundreds of due process cases involving special education disputes, and has conducted numerous Title IX and discrimination investigations. She has also participated in union negotiations for several school districts, and has worked closely with Human Resources Departments on labor and employment matters.
As in-house counsel, Kristine presented on numerous education law matters and served as part of the Superintendent’s Cabinet, where she provided advice and counsel on numerous issues affecting school districts. Kristine’s extensive in-house experience provides her with a unique perspective and a practical approach to providing sound legal advice to clients.
In her spare time, Kristine enjoys sports, music, cooking, and spending time with her family, including her twin daughters.
